These are more than just places to play, they’re spaces for our children to learn, grow and thrive in the world of sports. They’ll be fostering friendships and skills that last a lifetime. Let’s dive into the incredible opportunities awaiting our young athletes in Fulham!
Five Gymnastics is a thrilling addition to Fulham’s vibrant sports landscape. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities it offers our children. Discovering Five Gymnastics has been a delight. Here, the focus isn’t just on gymnastics but on mastering the fundamentals – from the floor routines to vaulting, bar work, beam exercises and the art of tumbling. It’s not solely about perfecting routines but about instilling confidence, forming friendships and creating a nurturing, enjoyable environment. I firmly believe that motivated kids excel. Five Gymnastics ensures each child is not only challenged but also finds joy in every session.
Located at Burlington House Prep, this club prioritises safety without compromising on the fun. The investment in top-notch equipment speaks volumes about their commitment to our young gymnasts’ development and safety. And let’s talk about Emma Jones. She is the driving force behind Five Gymnastics. With her 13 years of coaching experience, Emma’s passion for gymnastics is infectious. Her background as a competitive gymnast and previous work at Battersea Gymnastics makes her a beacon of success and enjoyment in every gymnastics session.
Junior Tennis Bishops Park by Rocks Lane stands out as a premier destination for young tennis enthusiasts in Fulham. Boasting a remarkable facility of 12 courts, it includes specially designed mini tennis courts, all brilliantly illuminated for extended play hours. The club prides itself on an expansive year-round coaching curriculum tailored for kids aged 3 to 18. Aligning with the ethos of individualised learning experiences, their emphasis is on fostering joy, confidence and freedom. This type of learning ensures each child progresses at their pace, offering a positive and nurturing tennis journey.
Endorsed by the Lawn Tennis Association, this club prioritises creating enabling environments for young players. They provide size-appropriate equipment and skill-based programs that cater to each child’s unique needs and aspirations. What sets this club apart is its adaptability and flexibility. From scheduling private coaching, allowing families to create tailored sessions to group arrangements for kids based on their preferences and schedules. Offering an extensive range of courses and groups tailored to different age groups and skill levels, Junior Tennis Bishops Park serves as an inclusive and engaging hub for tennis enthusiasts. It helps kids foster a love for the sport while nurturing talent and skills in a supportive environment.
Hākinakina, which translates to “Enjoy Sport,” embodies a philosophy centred on making sports and fitness an uplifting and enjoyable experience for children. Their programs cater to kids aged 2 to 12, delivering engaging activities across London that focus on nurturing fundamental skills necessary for various sports while ensuring a fun-filled environment. My children’s experience with rugby at Hākinakina has been exceptional. The rugby clubs for the little ones, aged 2 to 6 offer a fantastic opportunity for them to engage with the sport at an early age. A great choice for building confidence in their coordination and instilling a love for physical activity in a fun and nurturing environment.
The diverse offerings span holiday camps for 4 to 11-year-olds during school breaks, weekend rugby clubs, netball clubs and hockey clubs. Moreover, their versatility extends to hosting parties and providing entertainment for various occasions. Hākinakina’s commitment extends beyond individual activities. They engage with schools and childcare centres to deliver an exciting array of sports and fitness sessions. For parents seeking a variety of options, they offer a comprehensive guide with a wide variety of sport and fitness activities.
I feel like I discovered an incredible gem in The Little Foxes Clubs. Their vision aligns perfectly with my belief that every child deserves inclusive sports activities that not only build fitness and skills but also foster confidence and social opportunities. Our family favourite from The Little Foxes Club is their Football club at Hurlingham Park. They also offer rugby, tennis and many more sport activities.
Established in 2007 with park games and activities, Little Foxes Club has evolved into a leader in community-based children’s sports programs. From curriculum sessions within schools to after-school activities, advanced football coaching and themed parties. What’s truly impressive is their commitment to quality. With top-notch coaches operating under the guidance of prestigious sporting bodies like the FA, LTA and RFU.
Their dedication to diversity and inclusivity in sports aligns perfectly with my values. Little Foxes Club believes in offering opportunities for all abilities and fitness levels. This ensures a nurturing environment where children can explore various sports genres. For me, their belief that sports offer invaluable benefits to children — from fitness and skill development to fostering teamwork and friendships — resonates deeply. It’s more than just playing, it’s about instilling a love for sports that can last a lifetime.
Now, let me share the extraordinary experience that is the Junior Learn To Row Course at Fulham Reach Boat Club. This one-week adventure is a journey of self-discovery, skill-building and a whole lot of fun for kids aged 14-18. The week is filled with 10 coaching sessions. A perfect blend of land and water activities that serve as the ideal introduction to the world of rowing. The next sessions span the half term and this course opens up a world of possibilities for young, aspiring rowers. Each day comprises one land session and one water session. Ensuring a comprehensive approach to understanding technical skills, building fitness and embracing teamwork.
What makes Fulham Reach Boat Club stand out isn’t just its focus on rowing; it’s the incredible charitable mission that underpins its existence. Led by highly experienced coaches, supported by junior members, safety and enjoyment are at the core of every session. They truly believe in fostering a love for rowing that goes beyond the technicalities of the sport.
Upon completing the Junior Learn To Row Course, participants have two exciting pathways to choose from. They can progress to the Junior Pro Course for a more in-depth exploration of rowing skills or continue the rowing journey as a junior member at Fulham Reach Boat Club. However, keep in mind that spaces for junior membership are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis before the start of each term. So, if your child is curious about rowing or looking for a unique and enriching experience during the school break, the Junior Learn To Row Course at Fulham Reach Boat Club is the perfect opportunity.
